British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead after taking his own life. 40 year old Alexander (or Lee, as he is better known within the fashion industry) has committed suicide just days before the start of London Fashion Week – he would have been showing his autumn/winter 2010 collection in Paris on March 9. Following his mother’s death just over a week ago, the East London born catwalk hero who brought us skull scarves and punky tartan became severely depressed. Lee McQueen was awarded a CBE for his services to fashion, won British Designer of the Year four times and supermodel Kate Moss was bridesmaid at his wedding in 2000. A fashion legend has truly been lost. RIP Alexander McQueen.
