Fair trade fashion maverick People Tree continue their ongoing designer collaboration this spring with capsule collections by Richard Nicoll, Bora Aksu and Tsumori Chisato. London-born designer Richard (he actually grew up in Australia!) has fashioned more of his ruffle front shirt dresses, now a signature Nicoll piece. The new deck chair stripe fabric is the perfect closet update for spring – makes me want to get my summer sandals out! Bora Aksu is a London-born Turkish designer who is in his fourth season with People Tree and this time around has used draping to create bold organic jerseys.  This mustard dress can be styled with retro peep-toe courts and postbox red lips for a fierce little vintage look. The sash belt around the middle is really reminiscent of the Obi style belts seen on the catwalk this spring/summer so an instant runway trend ticked-off there! Lastly to the Tsumori Chisato’s swing-frock. The print is youthful yet not at all ‘little girly’. It’s poppy and playful and reminds me of something Eley Kishimoto or Marni would show on the runway. This Japanese designer worked with Issey Miyake in 1977 and then started her own line in 1990. Three doses of delightful designer-for-less fashion available at the click of a button. How perfect!
