If there’s a theme, I’m in, and when it comes to kidswear at this time of the year it’s pretty standard practice to go to town with the jaunty, seasonal autumn/winter charm. Whether it’s woodland prints, thick, handspun yarns or a rich colour palette, nothing makes you want to wrap them up and go explore the great outdoors (or snuggle down on the sofa with a good flick) quite like a soft co-ord, toasty top or mega comfy pair of trousers. Throw in the occasional fox motif for good measure and we’re set.

Tootsa’s Cosy Autumn Wardrobe

The latest addition recharging Hector’s autumn wardrobe is a huge hit of Tootsa cosy. I’m a relatively new fan of ethical brand Tootsa, and just a two second snoop on their Instagram and I was sold in seconds. Known for their brightly coloured designs, organic cotton and unisex focus, for AW17 Tootsa debuts a babywear line with all the unique sweats, prints and baby cords you’ll ever need.

I find sweatshirts, joggers and tracksuits the easiest thing to dress Hector in right now. At nine months old he’s already tearing the place up left, right and centre, so comfort and movability is key. Plus, with nappy changes still sometimes coming in around the six times a day mark, it’s just so easy not to have to fiddle with buttons and fastenings. Pull on and go is what we’re all about!

Tootsa has these clever little design details I really appreciate, like fabric-saving knee patches, roomy bottoms for bulky nappies and easy-access press studs on necklines. The prints speak for themselves. The Toronto print stars foxes, bears and owls and is everything I love about the season. While grey wolves turn an everyday tracksuit into something so special.

For nighttime (and perfect for the Christmas Eve new pair of PJ’s ritual) are these rainbow pyjamas created in aid of Gingerbread, at UK charity that helps single parent families. Kate Pietrasik started Tootsa when her daughter was a baby and she was a single parent, and Gingerbread helped her gain confidence and gave her the advice she needed to continue to work and grow her business. These snowman and penguin-clad pyjamas are every inch the winter wonderland festive fun your tots will love.

From one mum to another, head this way for my honest account of baby sleep training. Who knows, you might just be able to claim some of those lost hours back before the excited (sleepless) Christmas holiday nights really set in!
