Well, the much anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration launch is over. Taking my track-side seat for the catwalk unveil in Washington Heights, New York, the unveil went off with a bang.
Everything, from the venue to the ‘foam finger’ props were sports-themed to coordinate with the sporty designs of the collection.
The show itself was a huge production. Free runners dropped down on ropes from the stadium ceiling, before descending on trampolines.
Next, Joan Smalls and a model army hit the runway, as Jessica Chastain and Dakota Fanning looked on.
It’s full blown Alexander Wang fever in New York City, these posters line a building site in Soho.
The collection embraces sport, and is seriously skimpy. But don’t worry if you’re a huge Wang fan and the thought of activewear freaks you out – there’s cool leather joggers that will look chic with fine winter knits, weekend friendly sweatshirts and great boots too.
The next day we headed to Central Park’s famed Boathouse restaurant for crab cakes and rowing. Such a pretty spot, if you’re visiting NYC soon, this is a must see.
Alexander Wang x H&M guests stayed at Mondrian Soho. The grand entrance looks even prettier at night.
If you’re in Soho, stop by La Esquina for the Cochinita Pibil pulled pork. So good.
