Dropping a dose of the little summer details I’ve been shopping recently. It’s often just one or two pieces that instantly make trusted wardrobe go-to’s feel completely new. A great raffia shopper bag, just a slick of barely-there lipstick (have you seen the Hermes Rosy Lip Perfectors?) or a couple of bohemian anklets piled up.
Something I’m reaching for time and time again is the humble oversized shirt. In cotton poplin stripe, soft denim or an outsized linen, they’re perfect to just throw over dresses for a minimal, boyish twist. A fresh pair of New Balance 530 sneaks will also do the trick if you’re longing for a simple update with lasting power. Pick and collect your fave colourways, I can’t take my baby blue and silver trimmed 530’s off, they are so comfortable!
This clementine gingham rah rah dress needs a special flag-up too. When Beach Cafe kindly gifted me this amazing Spanish tiered dress, I knew it would be something I’d live in all summer long. The length is just right, it’s a beautiful, breathable cotton and has a lovely, flattering sheered middle. Spot the matching scrunchie too, which came in a set of orange and blue gingham with ribbon ties that you can add on. You can shop a great selection of Pink City Prints dresses at Beach Cafe now.
Picking up a few style updates like these can spark fresh ideas on different ways to wear your wardrobe. A chunky dad or bandana-wrapped trekky sandal, for example, contrasts a breezy summer midi with a tough hit. While a 90s inspired baguette bag (my new love is the By Far Rachel – named after Rachel Greene in Friends.) And you should never underestimate the power of a new scrunchie or pair of sunglasses to help you feel instantly ‘done’. Head for Slip’s silk scrunchie set and a love-forever tortoiseshell frame from Celine.
