With the London heatwave in full swing, I’ve been dipping into my beach holiday stash on the hunt for breezy basics that I can smarten up for a city chic look. Here, simple tropical print shorts (usually reserved for pool side) take on a whole new spin with a smart, preppy breton top and cross body bag.
I didn’t want to lose the beachy vibe entirely – it is 28 degrees out there after all – so finished with cute nautical espadrilles. They’re a nice match to the Seasalt top, which is fittingly decorated with the slogan ‘Aye Aye Skipper’ on the inside. I love little finishing touches like this. It’s made from organic cotton too, so is really soft and great for the skin.
A tan cross body bag by Florian London pulls everything together. The satchel vibe of the ‘Mini Vienna’ is casual so to not clash with the laidback shorts and shoes.
