December brings with it a wave of festivities, frost (heck, maybe even snow) and great knitwear. There really is no better excuse to get cosy than the end of year wind down. I’m all about being wrapped up in coats, scarves and gloves for those Sunday walks and nothing beats the feeling of layered super soft and snuggly knits for indoor lazing on the sofa. Add a lit log burner, pile of magazines and mince pies into the mix and I’ll probably not move for hours.

One weekend ritual I adore involves jumping in the car ten minutes up the road to Wimbledon Village for coffee, the paper run and general mooch about. It usually ends up with a stop into Gails bakery for brownies, snoop in the florist and supplies pick-up at my fave delicatessen Bailey and Sage. On the list? Scotch eggs, Comte cheese and usually a green juice – I’m all about balance!

Onto some of my recent knitwear wins. I seem to be gravitating towards pink and khaki right now. I love the ease khaki brings to my wardrobe, but some snuggly pink knitwear really lifts things and takes the utilitarian feel out of the army green. H&M’s fluffy candy pink jumper is the ultimate layering tool with a v-neck that let’s a grey or striped tee peek out, long line and roomy fit. I’ve upsized to accommodate bump. Their thick, XL scarf is another find, it graduates from pink through to nude in an ombre effect and I can’t get enough of the tassels too.

Never one to skip the festive feels, these White Stuff fairisle mittens are not only toasty but they’re practical too, with fingerless design making things way easier for using a phone and getting in and out of handbags. My parka coat is from Monsoon. You really can’t beat their winter coats for quality and all round wearability and ‘Pip’ is the epitome of throw-on-and-go easy.

Of course LK Bennett’s Mariel bag hasn’t left my side since it arrived. In classic go-to black hardwearing saffiano leather, it’s personalised with their initial stickers, a collaboration with artist Boyarde. I’m so in love with it. It’s got two handy zip compartments (one front, one back) and a long across-body strap making it a staple accessory buy. The faux fur pom pom adds a little winter charm too.

A little tip if you’re in south London over the Christmas period is The Ivy Grill Wimbledon, if not just for the picture opportunity – they’ve really gone to town with the decks this year, it’s the happiest place to be. Squeeze in a lunch stop if you can – their chicken Milanese is to die for.
